Sunday 3rd March saw the Under 12s travel to Dover, in which we were able to take a full squad for the first time but unfortunately we had one drop out ill before the game started.
The game was a return fixture from early in the season, we were meet with some rather inclement wet windy weather, not the ideal conditions for flowing rugby. Both teams coped the best they could with the conditions, both sides making handling errors which is to be expected.
Ash made a fast start scoring straight from the kick off with pressure on the kick turning the ball over and a quick offload to score. Dover came back with some strong tackling and great work at the break down. Both teams pushed forward in search of a try only to be met by some great defence, both sides managed to score in the first half and the half ended 3 all.
The second half continued as the first left off Dover scored first with a great run from their own try line, to be awarded a penalty try for a tackle a little high over the shoulder from behind. Ash regrouped and applied great pressure on the resolute Dover defence which held fast until the end of the game when Ash managed to release the ball from a turn over and spread it wide and over for a try.
Well done boys another great effort and hard shift put in...
