|24th Nov 2019||11.00am||U13s||Dover||Friendly||Home||3-2|
Sunday 24th saw the fixture with Dover, both having players unavailable for this week and Whitstable, without a coach and fixture were also invited to join us, as its all about the children playing and enjoying rugby! Regardless of the badge on the jersey, we had arranged to meet up for a training session to join our numbers to provide a better experience in the dark arts of scrummaging!
The morning started with the very sad news of the passing of one of the dover lads fathers, we all joined together in a minutes silence all of our thoughts and prayers are with him and the family at this very sad time.
We had some fun games and drills to improve the technique of the scrum and improve the understanding of the actions and reactions of what's involved to participate safely in this part of the game.
We then had a game against Dover to put into action what had been learnt. With the numbers, we managed to play an 11 a-side game which was very even and well contested, with some great scrum work by both sides some good handling ruck and maul work and fantastic running in open play producing several tries. The game finished at 3-2 in favour of Ash.
The morning was finished off with hotdogs all round!
Anyone that is interested in giving rugby a try, please feel free to get in contact or pop along to any training session at Ash, the Under 13s train Sundays when not fixture for a game at 10 o'clock and on a Wednesday night at 7pm until 8pm.
Finally, well done boys great effort as always!!!! I'm sure you will agree when we work together and for each other, it works!!!
