On Sunday 20th, we played Whitstable at home at Ash. It was a cold but lovely sunny morning. We had several players missing due to illness and prior engagements, however Whitstable brought 9 players so we played 9v9. We played in three separate halves.

In the first half Ash started well scoring first some great rugby was played with great passing and very strong committed tackling, all of which was practiced in training! Ash scored a couple more times with only 1 in reply from Whitstable.

The second half was started the same way in which the first finished with great attacking rugby which was met with some very strong defending by Whitstable with some try saving tackles being made on their try line. Ash managed to cross the white wash 6 times with 1 in reply from Whitstable an overall score of 11-2 to Ash.

After a break, the teams were split up and mixed in a friendly game in which was a competitive and fair fought game played in the spirit of rugby which ended in a 1 all draw.

All the boys had a great morning with old and new friendships made. I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the boys for all their hard work in training over the last few weeks, it shows train hard it pays off.

WELL DONE BOYS keep it up !!!!

We are always looking for any players (school year 7) that want to give rugby a try, no matter what ability or experience, please feel free to come along to training and give it a go or contact me, you never know you could be the next Owen Farrell .
