A Kent Cup quarter final tie against Folkestone gave Ash chance to show the strength in depth the club possesses with six members of the starting line-up coming from the ranks of the U15 squad. Playing into a fierce wind in the first half Ash had to show defensive resilience as they came under early pressure. As the half went on Ash came to the fore and crossed the line only to be held-up.
Ash were more dominant in the second half with the wind at their backs and crossed the line again, once more only to be held up by committed Folkestone defence, before finally registering the first score with a converted try with three quarters of the game gone. With legs tiring the game opened up and Folkestone scored a try in the corner to bring the game to 10-5 with 5 minutes to go. Ash kept their nerve and playing for territory were able to force a penalty deep in the Folkestone half to close the game out 10-5 and book a wee deserved place in the semi-finals.
