Date Time Team Opponent Competition H/A Result
22nd Feb 20202.00pm1st XVLeigh IShepherd Neame Kent 4 RuralHome72-3

Leigh RFC,  a very sociable team travelled to Ash to fulfil the league fixture, even though short on numbers. That is the spirit of rugby of lets just get there and play, well done to you all!! They arrived with 12 players so as it works in rugby, several of the Ash players joined them for the day to get the game played, and several substitutions made through out the game allowed players switch sides and get everyone some valuable game time.

The game was a bit of a one sided event in the favour of Ash, but all credit to Leigh they never gave up and played right up to the final whistle under very tough conditions. The game had lots of tries for Ash with a final score of 72-3, Leigh's only points coming rom a penalty in the first half. The man of the match award was given to a very deserving Jack Kremer after scoring a fantastic hat-trick .

The score may well of been more had it not been for one of the more experienced props (Matt Evans) deciding playing at 10, it's easy to take the kicking duty in the dying moments of the gam,e only to miss the conversion!!!! (I blame it on the socks but I'm sure he has his own excuse maybe his hair got in his eyes?!)

Please remind us all of what Geoff has always said, DONT KICK IT!!!!!!

It was a really positive performance by all the team, all playing together and against each other, it's always difficult playing for an opponent, but everyone took on the role with right attitude and professional approach, to give it 100% from the start. That is the Ash spirit and love of the game, which was clear to see all over the field.

Well done boys keep up the hard work in training it really is paying off !!!

Next game is away at Sevenoaks on Saturday 29th February COYA
