Chairman's Mutterings

Nov

Firstly the flood lights are up!! A big thank you to Steve Trice and C&W Groundworks. Now we have to sort out the lights at the top of Laslett's field. Autumn international tickets have arrived and Dave Stephens will be handing them out soon. If you want 6 nations tickets speak to him NOW! Membership is the lifeblood of our club and we have more paid up members than for some years. Please note that 'only players who have paid their membership' are covered by the RFU insurance and eligible to play. In some cases it might be prudent to take up additional insurance cover for your own personal use. Membership includes the usual benefits of use of the clubhouse facilities, access to international tickets, voting rights, ability to stand for office etc. Those on a low income should contact the Chairman, Vice Chairman or Treasurer, in complete confidence, to discuss their situation. A gentle reminder to wear club tie and shirt after games (and black socks and shorts during matches). If you haven't been up to the club on a Sunday morning, get up there! Not only will you see some great rugby being played by the juniors (watch out seniors!), great things happening with the minis, it makes you realize what a fantastic club Ash is. Well done to all the coaches, Volunteers, parents and players. Keep it up. Training courses and CPD's are available to all, please speak to Head Coach Trevor Hopper who will book you in. Hopefully the new website will be up and running soon (it is now - Ed!), and automatic redirection from this one in place. Alongside the various WhatsApp groups, Twitter feeds and Facebook pages (it sounds like I know what I'm talking about!) everyone should know what is going on. The 12th November sees the Dartford Valley cup game, kick off at midday with England v South Africa match at 2:30. There is a Curry and Quiz night on the 25th November to raise funds for a bench to go on the Laslett's field pit
