Our Committee's Message to Ash RFC

05

Apr

To all players, members and relatives of Ash RFC,

As we all now know, the 2019-2020 season has now finished for all teams under the Premiership. This means that we will sadly have to postpone all events for the end of this season and the summer. This includes the Barn Dance and the Seniors/Juniors End of Season Dinner and Awards. We will let everyone know of a new date for the events, possibly before the beginning of next season, however that will depend upon Government and RFU restrictions.

It has been a successful year for all at Ash RFC at all levels. The seniors played well in their league, against some tough opposition, finishing a respectful 5th. The U16s played well throughout the season, especially as the squad has been through some highs and lows. The U13s and U12s have developed week upon week, and have put in some very strong performances. The mini’s teams seem to go from strength to strength, with the schools’ festivals helping attract new players to the club, which is fantastic. All of this is in no small part due to the excellent work of coaches and volunteers making this season a positive for all, and we would like to congratulate you all on the successful year and thank you for all your hard work and efforts.

Thanks to all our sponsors we have been able to invest in new equipment and kit which includes new 1st XV kit, a scrummaging sledge, cones, balls, tackle bags, etc the list goes on. We have also invested in new training floodlights in the area by the containers.

The committee would like to wish everyone well during this period of uncertainty. We strongly advise everyone to follow the governments advice and restrictions so this uncertainty can end as early as possible. When we emerge from this current period of uncertainty, we would like to hope all involved in the club to enjoy the summer break, and hit the ground running for the start of the new season.

Watch this space for announcements, as Ashley turns a big age of 25 next season…

Yours in Rugby,

The Ash RFC Committee
