HAPPY 30TH ANNIVERSARY, ASH RFC!

Three decades of mud, mates, memories… and the odd questionable drop goal.

Thirty years ago today, a small group of rugby lads ran out for the very first time under the name Ash Rugby Club. The kit? Not the iconic Green and White we know today — but a borrowed red strip from a mate because, well… budgets were tight and enthusiasm was high. 

Our debut fixture at the old Pfizer Sports & Social Club (now Baypoint) — Ash vs Whitstable — wasn’t just a match. It was the spark that lit 30 years of community, commitment, and downright good rugby. None of us knew it then, but that muddy patch of grass would be the birthplace of a story far bigger than anyone imagined.

From that borrowed jersey grew a family.

We found our colours — the Green & White — and we found our home at the Recreation Ground in Ash, right in the heart of the village. It became more than a pitch; it became where friendships were forged, legends were created, and Saturdays became something you didn’t ever want to miss.

Every try scored…

Every tackle made…

Every pint raised in celebration — it all carries the spirit of everyone who has helped build, shape, and love this club.

To the players who turned up before there were changing rooms…

To the volunteers who kept things running with nothing but passion…
To the supporters who stood on the touchline in sideways rain…
And to every single person who has worn the jersey, washed the jersey, or cheered for the jersey…
